West Virginia

I know it's been a long time, I bet you all thought I gave up on the blogging! We've just been busy and I never seem to find a spare second to get this updates...UNTIL NOW! :)

So we heading down to West Virginia since Chris has been spending so much time down here, we decided to come visit and check the place out. Jacob got to run around and play "trucker" at the yard, he LOVED that and didn't want to leave.



We also went to the Clay Center in Charleston yesterday. It's basically like the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor but with different stuff. They had a kidspace section too and Alayna LOVED that. I'm glad we found something she enjoyed so much since we packed her all up and had to come down here to spend her first birthday! We didn't get to have a cake, but she did get an ice cream sundae for dessert (notice the messy face?) and we went and picked out a few new toys at Target after dinner.

Funny Jacob Talk - Take 2

We were at the store the other day picking out a birthday present for Jacob's friend Jason. Jacob was walking up and down the aisles pointing out things he wanted. "I want that Mommy" "I want one of those for me and Jason". After a few times of trying to explain how we were buying something for Jason only, I gavbe up and just ignored him.
After he realized that I wasn't commenting on his requests anymore he stopped and looked at me with his mad face and said "Mom, how many times do I have to tell you I want a toy?!?"

It was too cute, I couldn't stop laughing!!!!!

I wonder where he got that from??? LOL

Fun at the zoo

I know I've been really bad about updating the blog, sorry! I hope 3 in one dayh will tide you over for a while! I'll try harder, but I'm not promising anything. :) Summer can be pretty busy!

Alayna's First Run at Real Food

Now I Know My ABC's

Finally...he can sing his ABC's without getting mad and telling me, "Mom, I'm sick of this!"

Alayna's new found voice

She's starting to talk a little and it's so cute. She'll talk and then smile at herself for doing it.
She is also very active with her arms and legs kicking around. I put her down on a playmat (thanks to Hannah for letting us borrow this new toy that Alayna just ADORES) and about a minute later she has somehow wiggled herself right off of it and onto the floor! If she's goes to bed not swaddled, she wiggles herself right into the crib rails. I guess I better get the other side of the padding back up.

She's smiling more and more every day and just Friday started to laugh a little. Not really a real laugh, more of a high pitched squeak, cute none the less.

How did Jacob get here?

We were having a conversation at dinnertime about when Jacob was born and he overheard us. "I was not born!" he laughed. "Well then how did you get here" we asked him.

"Did you hatch out of an egg?" "no"
"Did you grow up from the ground?" "no"
"Did you fall out of the sky?" "no"

"Then how DID you get here?" He thought for a minute and said "I just walked here." :)

This morning everyone was up WAY TOO early for some unfortunate reason...5am. By 6:30am Jacob had already had 3 time outs and I was getting fed up with the yelling and screaming. Not to mention having a hard time getting Alayna back to sleep with Jacob carrying on about every little thing. It might seem a little cruel but I thought it would be funny to record so I can show him later in life how much of a stinker he was!

This little episode all started because I didn't give him a straw in his cup. You might want to adjust your volume!

Some times they forget my straw at the fast food drive thru's, I think I might try this next time and see how that goes. :)

Funny Jacob Talk

He cracks me up everyday with some of the funny things he comes up with or says so I thought it would be fun to share from time to time.

Potty Talk

We have been trying to get back into the swing of potty training again (which seems to be going good so far). Today after he went pee he yelled out "That pee pee is yellow!" Yes, Jacob, you're right. "And poo poo is brown!" WOW, he's a smart cookie!

Another thing he says all the time when I tell him not to go pee pee in his pants, "I not, I promise."

911

We were playing with the phone pretending to call people and I decided to explain 911 to Jacob just so see if he would get it at all.
I told him that if Mommy or Daddy or anyone was really hurt and he needed help that he needs to dial 9-1-1 and I showed him the numbers on the phone. Right after I asked him "So what do you do when someone is hurt and you need help?"
His answer... "Call Makayla!"
Great, I'm going to die! ha ha

Our Silly Poohs

It either goes one way or the other. Half the people say Jacob and Alayna look exactly alike and the other half say totally different.
So we got Alayna dressed in the same clothes of one of our favorite pictures of Jacob around the same age and did a little comparing.
