Still doesn't like Santa

We went to see Santa the other day. I thought MAYBE in Makayla was ok with the weirdo with the white beard that Jacob wouldn't be so frightened....that was NOT the case. We had it all planned out. I would be ready in my designated spot, Kristi would walk up to Santa with Jacob's back to him and plop him on his lap and I would snap a picture before he even know what was going on.
It worked!....for a second, then the fear took over. We could only torture him enough for a few quick photos.

Oh my...It's been such a long time!

I am very sorry about the lack of posts for everyone that keeps checking our blog! It's been very busy around here and since I have gone back to full time at work, I just never have a moment to sit down and relax...or blog!
So "what's new" you ask? Jacob is still growing like a little weed. He is talking more and more each day...not much of it we can understand, but it's cute anyway! He knows a few words, uh-uh, mama, dada, milk (sounds like mi), dog, more (sounds like mo), ball, blankie (sounds like bebe) i know theres more that i can't think of right now.
We have had so many fun activities this summer and a lot of great pictures. We went camping, (Jacob was a complete angel the entire time, it was great!) We went to a few carnivals (he's not all that fond of the rides yet), a tigers game (we had to leave early because Jacob HATES to sick still for too long), a petting farm (probably one of his favorite trips although he got bite by a duck!).
He's having a lot more fun playing with other kids now, but he is really bad at sharing and not getting his way. We're going to have to work on that! ha ha

Long Time, No Post

It's been pretty busy around here and I sorta forgot about blogging. (oops sorry, for those that are reading!)
We have been doing a ton of fun things and here are a few pictures to prove it.
Jacob and I flew down to my cousin Jaimes house in TN to visit with her and her kids for a week. It was a nice break and Jacob actually got to play with some boys for a change. Really the only other boy he gets to play with is Matt, all his kid relatives are girlie girls! ha ha

Here's a funny picture of Jacob helping me with the laundry. I put one of Chris's socks on his feet and he laughed about it. A few minutes later I seen him trying to get the other one on himself! Of course I had to help him. Then he sat around watching t.v. until I was down with his socks on up to his knees. (kinda looks like grandpa doesn't it! he he)A few hours later he was taking all the shoes off the shoeshelf and putting those on too!

And the biggest news of all...JACOB HAS STARTED WALKING!
He still crawls most of the time, but he's walking a little more each day, its fun and scary at the same time. He falls a lot still! Here's a few pictures of him walking around today outside.

Springs Here!

Has it been almost a month already since I last posted? My gosh, the weather gets a little nice, and off we go! We make trips to the park, take bike rides, go swimming at the rec center, have bbq's. I can't wait until Jacob is up on his feet and walking so that we can do a lot more fun things outside. (without ruining clothes!)

Bike Seat Fun

Jacob and I went to buy a bike seat today for his birthday present from Mom and Dad. You would not believe how hard it is to find one of these darn things. I went to 4 different stores and only found 2! You would think there would be a better selection than that! Anyway, we finally just got the one at the store we were at since we didn't want to go anywhere else and then we rolled over to the helmet section. Safety first, right? OH MY! Jacob thinks that a bike helmet is some sort of torture device and he was screaming and thrashing around trying to get the hemet off his head. He ended up scratching himself in the face trying so hard to get it off. We still bought one, but I'm wondering if the whole day was a big waste of time and waste of money. I'll try him after he wakes up from his nap and hopefully he'll be more accepting of the helmet, otherwise I don't think you'll be seeing us going for any bikes rides. It doesn't sound like much fun to have a screaming kid wiggling around making my bike unsteady just because of a "horrible" helmet. Any idea to may this a little easier on the little guy? I'm all ears.
*UPDATE*
After a few cries, I think he's getting used to it. Now that we got one that fits better and he realizes that he can't get it off, I think he's give up and is dealing with it. He even smiled for a few pictures! (the dorky sunglasses came with the helmet.)

Byebye Mullet

Jacob got his first "official" haircut today. Daddy cut it with the clippers. The mullet and duck wings finally gone! (its not a very big change, just trimmed the back and sides)

Jacob's Friend Rhy's Birthday Party

Jacob had a great time yesterday at his friends 1st birthday party. Even though he had a pretty bad cold, (mommy was sick too) he was a real trooper and didn't get too cranky until he started to get sleepy. There were a bunch of kids his age there to play with and it was funny watching him interact with them. We did learn that we're probbaly going to have some issues with sharing soon. Jacob was teasing the other babies by holding toys up to them and hanking them away when they went to grab it. Silly me thinking that he was being a nice boy and sharing!
3 more weeks until Jacob has his party, I hope its just as good of a turn out as Rhys party was!
